About LiDAR LiDAR is an acronym for Light Detection And Ranging We will travel wherever your project takes us LiDAR is the latest cutting edge technology available for surveying your project site. The laser sensors, avionics, and IMU are mounted to the airplane or the helicopter. As we fly over your project site the laser sensors pulse laser beams that penetrate tree canopies and other obstructions. A GPS antenna mounted to the aircraft relates the data to actual points on the ground in conjunction with a GPS base unit positioned on your project site. Afterwards, the collected data is processed with specially designed computer software producing a geogrpahically relevant longitude, latitude, and elevation (x,y,z) position for every data point collected. We use the ''x,y, z'' data points to create a computerized 3D Digital Elevation Model (DEM) of the ground surface and computer draft a construction grade topographical map precise enough for flood plain analysis, flood drainage studies, and flood plain mapping. Aerial photographs of the project site are taken at the time that the aerial surveying missions are flown and are provided to you at no addtional charge. In additon, an as-built survey can be done on the ground and can be added to your base map. We will travel anywhere to meet your projects needs... locally or Internationally ... |
